The values of Hajj must be analyzed deeply.
Al-ahram, or the apparel worn during Hajj, consists of two, plain white towels, similar to the shroud. These outfits are also similar to what people will be wearing on Judgment Day. This is a reminder that when you leave this life, the only thing you will have is two pieces of white clothing on your body. For this reason, people should be satisfied with whatever Allah has given them because at the end, all of your riches don’t matter. One of the purposes of Al-ahram is to make everyone feel equal. The kings will wear the same as the presidents as the farmers as the commoners. The most powerful one will be the individual who has a stronger faith in their heart.
On Yawm-al-Arafa, our universal gathering, Allah allows the angels to proudly witness the people during our pilgrimage. This day also reminds us of when the Prophet (PBUH) stood and gave his final speech {Farewell Sermon}. The Prophet (PBUH) also eliminated any type of discrimination 1400 years ago. Islam has made it clear that there shall be no form of discrimination. Not between black and whites. Not between rich and poor. Not between upper and lower class. In the Quran, it states “O mankind, we have created you from a single pair of a male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is knowing and acquainted.” (Al-Hujurat). The Prophet’s (PBUH) final sermon summarized the vital human rights before any other international human rights’ association/organization.
Another important takeaway of Hajj is one must be patient and maintain their anger. These factors give you the full reward of Hajj.
As the Prophet (PBUH) said, whoever performs Hajj and doesn’t commit any sins while doing their pilgrimage will return as pure and sin-free as a newborn baby. The Prophet (PBUH) also said that if your Hajj is accepted by Allah, your reward will be nothing but Jannah (Paradise).
